Pakistan, Indonesia forge New Era of Air Power ties with Air Chief Sidhu’s Visit

RAWALPINDI – Chief of Air Staff of the Pakistan Air Force Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu held high-profile meetings with Indonesia’s top leadership amid deepening brotherhood between the two nations. During formal meeting with President Prabowo Subianto, Air Chief highlighted shared values and decades of strategic cooperation. President Prabowo expressed keen interest in tapping into the PAF’s cutting-edge training programs and aerospace infrastructure to elevate Indonesia’s defence capabilities. Air Chief met Defence Minister Lieutenant General (Retd) Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, the Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces, and the Indonesian Air Chief, receiving a Guard of Honour at every venue. Talks with Indonesian Air Chief focused on enhancing Air Force-to-Air Force collaboration, including joint training from basic to advanced levels, professional exchanges, and cooperation in emerging aerospace technologies. Recognizing the PAF’s extensive combat experience, the Indonesian Air Chief sought support in operational and flight training. In recognition of his pivotal role in strengthening bilateral air power ties, the Air Chief was awarded the Medal of Honour, the highest distinction of the Indonesian Air Force. The visit also featured joint meeting with the Indonesian Defence Minister and Chief of Defence Forces, where a wide array of defence and security matters were discussed. The Indonesian leadership praised the PAF’s professionalism, ongoing modernization, and lauded the advanced technological infrastructure of the National Aerospace Science & Technology Park.
