Pakistan thrashed New Zealand by eight wickets in the Super Sixes match of the ICC Men’s U19 World Cup in Harare on Tuesday. Chasing a below-par 111-run target for victory, Green shirts crossed the finish line in 17.1 overs with eight wickets remaining. Sameer Minhas was the highest scorer with an unbeaten 76 off 59 balls, hitting 10 fours and two maximums. Usman Khan contributed 15 off 24 balls, while skipper Farhan Yousaf made an unbeaten 11 off nine balls. Mason Clarke and Luke Harrison bagged one wicket each. Abdul Subhan was named player of the match for his exceptional show with the ball. After being put into bat by Pakistan skipper Farhan Yousaf, New Zealand were bundled out for 110 in 28.3 overs despite a quick-fire 48-run second wicket partnership between top scorer Hugo Bogue (39 off 27 balls) and skipper Tom Jones (15 off 16 balls). Mason Clarke contributed 17 off 48 balls, Hunter Shore 13 off 14 balls, and Callum Samson 10 off 22 balls. No other batter could enter the double figures. Abdul Subhan was the pick of the bowlers who bagged four wickets by conceding just 11 runs in 6.3 overs. Ali Raza took three wickets and Mohammad Sayyam and Momin Qamar one each, while Hunter Shore was run out.
