Pakistan thrashed Australia by 111 runs in the third and final T20I of the series at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium on Sunday to complete a historic 3-0 whitewash. Chasing a challenging 208-run target for victory, Australia kept losing wickets at regular intervals and were bundled out for 96 in 16.5 overs. Marcus Stoinis was the highest scorer for the visitors with 23 off 22 balls, hitting three boundaries. Cameron Green contributed 22 off 24 balls and Josh Phillipe 14 off 15 balls. No other batter could enter the double figures. Mohammad Nawaz was the main destroyer with the career-best bowling performance of 5/18. Shaheen Shah Afridi bagged two wickets, while Abrar Ahmed and Naseem Shah took one wicket each. Adam Zampa could not come out to bat due to injury. After winning the toss and opting to bat first, Pakistan reached 207/6 in their quota of 20 overs. Opener Saim Ayub was the top scorer for Green shirts with 56 off 37 balls, laced with six fours and two maximums. Babar Azam made an unbeaten 50 off 36 balls, hitting three fours and one maximum. Shadab Khan contributed a quick-fire 46 off just 19 balls with the help of two fours and five huge sixes to enable Pakistan post over 200 runs against Australia for the first time. Khawaja Nafay contributed 21 off 21 balls, and Faheem Ashraf and Fakhar Zaman 10 each. Ben Dwarshuis bagged two wickets while Matthew Kuhnemann, Matthew Short, Cooper Connolly and Cameron Green took one wicket each. It was a dead rubber as Pakistan had already taken an unassailable 2-0 lead after winning the last two games with convincing margins.
