Pakistani diaspora observes Kashmir Solidarity Day in Madrid

Kashmir Solidarity Day (5th February 2026) was commemorated at the Embassy of Pakistan, Madrid today. A large number of Spanish friends and Pakistani community members attended the event. The attendees were briefed on the human rights violations in IIOJK and Indian illegal and unilateral acts in the region. 2. The messages of the President, the Prime Minister and the Deputy Prime Minister/FM were read by the Deputy Head of Mission, Mr. Omer Manzoor Malik; and Second Secretary, Ms. Maryam Mushtaq. A documentary was played at the event to sensitize the audience of the atrocities being committed against the people of Kashmir. 3. In his remarks, Ambassador Dr. Zahoor Ahmed reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Kashmiri people in their pursuit of justice and fundamental rights. He underscored that the measures taken by the Indian government on 5 August 2019 constituted serious violations of United Nations Security Council resolutions and the Geneva Conventions governing occupied territories. He stated that the Kashmiri population continues to be deprived of basic rights and freedoms, and stressed that India must honor its international obligations by allowing Kashmiris to exercise their legitimate and inalienable right to self-determination. The Ambassador also called upon the Pakistani diaspora to actively engage with Spanish society to raise awareness about the hardships faced by the Kashmiri people. 4. The event ended with a special prayer for our Kashmiri brothers and sisters.
