Parachinar shivers at -7°C as severe cold prevails in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Parachinar shivered at -07°C and Malam Jabba at -06°C as freezing weather continued to prevail in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday. The prevailing harsh weather conditions will continue to persist in the province during the next two days. Synoptic Situation: According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan. A shallow westerly wave prevails over the extreme northern parts of the country. Forecast: Under these conditions, cold and dry weather is expected in Peshawar and most parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday night and the next two days. Partly cloudy and freezing weather is likely in the upper districts. Shallow fog (in patches) will likely develop over Mardan, Swabi and adjoining areas during morning hours. Temperatures: Peshawar’s minimum temperature will likely remain between 02°C and 04°C on Thursday, between 03°C and 05°C on Friday, and between 02°C and 04°C on Saturday. Past Weather: Cold and dry weather prevailed in most parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the last 24 hours. Freezing weather prevailed in the upper districts. Isolated rain with snowfall occurred in the upper parts. Rainfall (mm): Malam Jabba 02, Pattan 01 Snowfall (Inches): Malam Jabba 01 Parachinar remained the coldest place in the province, where the temperature dropped 07°C below the freezing point. Minimum temperature in Malam Jabba was recorded at -06°C, and in Nathia Gali and Kalam at -05°C. In Peshawar, the minimum temperature was recorded at 03°C.
