Petrol prices in Pakistan to go up: Expected rates from 1 March 2026

ISLAMABAD – The federal government is likely to increase petrol prices in upcoming review for March 2026 amid rising global oil prices. Reports suggest that the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has started working to prepare a summary regarding changes in petroleum prices. The summary will be sent to the Ministry of Finance which will take the final decision after getting approval from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Expected Petrol Prices for March 2026 Reports said petrol price in Pakistan is likely to see an increase of Rs5.13 per litre, taking new rate to Rs263.30. Similarly, the price of high speed diesel may surge by Rs6.80 with new price is expected to reach Rs282.50 per litre from 1 March 2026. Previously, petrol prices in Pakistan witnessed a big increase for second fortnight of February 2026 as the federal government aimed at the generating more revenue ahead of the third review of the International Monetary Fund for a loan agreement. The Petroleum Division had issued a notification in this regard after the revised prices were approved by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The price of petrol had been increased by Rs5, bringing the new price to Rs258.17 per litre. Additionally, the price of high-speed diesel has been increased by Rs7.32, making the new price Rs275.70 per liter.
