ISLAMABAD – Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has entered into a strategic cargo partnership with the global aviation group Air France-KLM, effective from January 15. Under this agreement, PIA cargo will gain access to Air France-KLM’s extensive global network. The partnership is expected to significantly improve the export of Pakistani products and enhance access to international markets. Pakistani exporters will now be able to use a single airway bill to connect through both PIA and Air France-KLM networks. PIA Cargo will be linked to the Air France-KLM network through key hubs in Dubai, Riyadh, and Dammam. The network includes major cities such as Amsterdam, Paris, Brussels, Frankfurt, Stuttgart, and Düsseldorf, as well as key U.S. cities like New York, Atlanta, and Los Angeles. Last year, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has entered into a groundbreaking cargo partnership with Bangladesh Biman Airlines, marking a significant milestone in the air cargo industry. The agreement, which took effect from December 1, 2025, aims to simplify the flow of cargo between Pakistan and Bangladesh. Under this agreement, key transit points in Saudi Arabia, such as Jeddah, Medina, and Riyadh, will serve as central hubs for cargo shipments. This will enhance the efficiency and speed of air freight operations, facilitating smoother trade between the two countries. The partnership is set to create a vital trade route between Pakistan and Bangladesh, strengthening economic ties and providing a more reliable solution for transporting high-value goods, including textiles, pharmaceuticals, and agricultural products.
