Pirzada orders Margalla Orchard Housing Scheme timely completion

Federal Minister for Housing & Works, Riaz Hussain Pirzada, accompanied by Secretary Housing & Works, Capt (R) Muhammad Mahmood, and Director General, Federal Government Employees Housing Authority, Capt (R) Zafar Iqbal, visited the Margalla Orchard Housing Scheme to monitor the development work there. Senior officials of the Defense Housing Authority (DHA) were also present there. Director Land, Mr. Saad Bin Asad while briefing the minister about the project saying the Margalla Orchard Housing Scheme comprises a total of 4,611 plots under two categories. He further informed that the Layout Plan (LoP) of the scheme was approved on August 4, 2022. Subsequently, the balloting and allotment letter issuance were held on September 14, 2022, in which Prime Minister participated as the chief guest. Allotment letters have already been issued to Federal Government employees and members of the Supreme Court Bar Association of Pakistan. In the 43rd Executive Board meeting of the FGEHA the Board formally approved the tripartite development agreement for the Margalla Orchard Housing Scheme, which is a joint venture of the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority, Defense Housing Authority, and the Supreme Court Bar Association of Pakistan. Accordingly, the development agreement was formally signed among the concerned parties on September 26, 2025, and was duly verified by the Ministry of Law and Justice. The Defense Housing Authority has taken possession of the project and commenced development work. The Federal Minister stated that the project represented a significant step towards providing quality residential facilities to Federal Government employees and members of the Supreme Court Bar Association of Pakistan. He assured that all issues relating to the project would be resolved on a priority basis and issued directions for the timely completion of ongoing and pending projects. The Federal Minister further emphasized that, in line with the vision of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority is expediting ongoing development projects to ensure timely completion of development works and provision of possession to allottees. He reiterated that the Housing Authority remains committed to providing residential facilities to government employees. He appreciated the services of the Director General Housing Authority and senior officials and stressed the need for early completion of the project in collaboration with the Defense Housing Authority.
