PM assures all-out protection for Chinese Personnel in meeting with Ambassador Zaidong

ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif assured fully secure and business-friendly environment for Chinese citizens, companies, and institutions operating in Pakistan. The pledge came during key engagement with Ambassador Jiang Zaidong, who paid courtesy call on the premier and conveyed strong assurances from Beijing. The meeting highlighted the deepening strategic bond between the two longtime allies. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif underscored that islamabad and Beijing share an enduring all-weather strategic cooperative partnership, one founded on unwavering mutual trust, ironclad friendship, and consistent support on core national interests. He termed relationship as a cornerstone of Pakistan’s foreign policy and regional vision. On occasion of the Chinese New Year, the premier extended heartfelt greetings and best wishes to Xi Jinping, Li Qiang, and the people of China, reaffirming the warmth and depth of ties between the two nations. PM Sharif placed special emphasis on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). He termed a flagship component of the Belt and Road Initiative and a defining pillar of bilateral collaboration. Calling for accelerated implementation of ongoing CPEC projects, the Prime Minister stressed the need to expand cooperation into high-potential sectors including agriculture, information technology, and mining and minerals — signaling a broader and more dynamic phase of economic engagement. He made it clear that Pakistan remains fully committed to protecting Chinese personnel, safeguarding investments, and ensuring institutional security throughout the country. Ambassador Jiang Zaidong briefed PM on latest developments in Pakistan-China relations and conveyed warm greetings from the Chinese leadership. In a strong show of solidarity, he reiterated China’s unwavering support for Pakistan’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and socio-economic development. The two sides also exchanged views on pressing regional and global developments, agreeing to maintain close coordination and consultation.
