Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed the development of a dashboard to monitor the movement of petroleum products in the country. Chairing a meeting in Islamabad on Friday, he directed the sharing of real-time data with provinces to ensure the uninterrupted availability of petroleum products. The meeting, attended by federal ministers and other high-ranking officials, reviewed the supply of petroleum products amid the disruption of the supply chain due to the Middle East tensions. The meeting was informed that there were sufficient reserves of petroleum products to meet domestic needs. PM Shehbaz directed swift and strict action against hoarders and immediately shut petrol pumps involved in creating artificial shortages of petroleum products. He directed the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) to cancel the licences of petrol pumps involved in hoarding, with the initiation of legal proceedings. He also directed working with provincial governments to make a strategy for conserving petroleum products and ensuring an uninterrupted supply to the masses.
