ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering stance on national defense, emphasizing that the country would never compromise on its security. He stated that any act of aggression would be met with a forceful and decisive response. In a statement following Pakistan’s retaliation to the Afghan Taliban’s unprovoked attack along the border, the prime minister emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to peace but made it clear that the nation’s sovereignty would not be jeopardized. He highlighted that the Pakistani military was fully equipped with advanced professional skills, high-level training, and strong defensive strategies to effectively address both internal and external threats. “The people and the armed forces of Pakistan stand united to safeguard the nation’s security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity,” he said. The prime minister also expressed confidence in the leadership of Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, stating that the armed forces were fulfilling their responsibilities with dedication and were capable of neutralizing any aggressive actions. He added, “The entire nation is firmly united with its armed forces in defending the country.”
