Chairman of the Pakistan Overseas Employment Promoters Association (POEPA), Syed Rehmat Ali Shah, along with senior office bearer of the association, ShakeelAbbasi, called on the Saudi Consular DrHamad Al-Atawi in the federal capital and discussed issues of mutual interest. POEPA’s Chairman appreciated DrHamad Al-Atawi’s efforts in resolving consular-level issues for Pakistanis travelling to the Kingdom for employment or to perform Hajj or Umrah. Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, said Syed Rehmat Shah, enjoy deep fraternal relations based on mutual respect, religious bond and friendship. The current ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Pakistan, Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki, is also making significant contributions towards further cementing the bond of friendship between the two countries, he said while paying rich tributes to the head of the Saudi mission in Pakistan. Since Saudi Arabia is home to the most significant number of Pakistani overseas employees, we look towards you as our great benefactor, said Rehmat Ali Shah, and assured the Pakistani workforce on Saudi soil that it would do its best for the economic uplift of the Kingdom and will continue to do so as long as possible. Saudi official DrHamad Al-Atawi welcomed the POEPA’s Chairman and his colleague and assured them that the consulate’s doors will always remain open for them. He also referred to last year’s signing of a landmark Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement (SMDA) in Riyadh by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, elevating the two countries’ security partnership to a formal, binding treaty. This again demonstrates the strong bond of friendship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, he said.
