State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) and Sahir Associates emerged victorious on the third day of the sixth round of President’s Trophy Grade-I 2025-26 at three venues in Karachi. Elsewhere, Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) needed four more wickets to win against Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) at the close of play at the KCCA Stadium. SBP bowled out Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) for 222 in 79.1 overs to win by an innings and 90 runs at the National Bank Stadium. OGDCL had scored 76 in their first innings, while SBP replied with 388 earlier in the first two days. Off-spinner Qasim Akram picked up six for 83 to claim match figures of nine for 103, his best bowling figures in an innings and a first-class match, respectively. This was also just his second haul of five or more scalps in the format. Sahir Associates bagged their second victory of the tournament to move themselves up from the bottom of the points table as they beat Ghani Glass by six wickets. Sahir batters Mohammad Faiq (68 not out), and Mohammad Kashif (57) hit half-centuries to overhaul the 189-run target. Ghani Glass’ skipper, Noman Ali, threatened to spoil the chase with three wickets with 82 runs on the board, but in vain. WAPDA got over the line against PTV at the UBL Sports Complex as they chased the 180-run target with Sharoon Siraj (75 not out) and Mohammad Ammar (56 not out) stitching an unbeaten 118-run stand. Earlier, PTV were bundled out for 150 after resuming their second innings from an overnight score of 123-6 in 32 overs. For WAPDA, Mohammad Naveed picked up four for 30, while Khalid Usman dismissed three batters. KRL were 114-6 in 46 overs against SNGPL at the KCCA Stadium in pursuit of a 234-run target. Skipper Iftikhar Ahmed (31) and Hamza Nazar (16) were on the crease as they saw out the tricky last hour after KRL had slipped to 85-6. Earlier, SNGPL could only add 84 runs for eight wickets to their overnight second innings score of 125-2 as KRL’s Mohammad Hamza returned figures of 24-6-40-6 – his sixth first-class five-for.
