PSL 11 auction price list: Who went big?

LAHORE – More than 800 local and foreign players were registered for the auction, making it one of the most competitive drafts in PSL history. Several high-profile signings were made, while a large number of players were picked at the base price. Pakistan fast bowler Naseem Shah emerged as the most expensive player of the auction after being picked by Rawalpindi for Rs86.5 million. Pakistani all-rounder Faheem Ashraf was the second most expensive signing, as Islamabad United secured him for Rs85 million. Among overseas players, New Zealand’s aggressive middle-order batter Daryl Mitchell was the costliest foreign pick. He was bought by Rawalpindi for Rs80.5 million. The players’ auction for the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) was held just a day ago at the Lahore Expo Centre, where all franchises completed their squads of 16 to 20 players. A major number of players were selected at the minimum base price of Rs6 million. Sialkot Stallions signed Mohammad Awais Zafar, Lachlan Shaw, Delano Potgieter and Jahanzeb Sultan while Peshawar Zalmi picked Mirza Tahir Baig, Mohammad Naheed Rana and Khalid Usman at the same price. Karachi Kings selected Rizwanullah and Aaqib Ilyas, whereas Lahore Qalandars added Tayyab Tahir, Asif Ali, Parvez Hussain Eman and Mohammad Farooq for Rs6 million each. Quetta Gladiators signed Samuel Harper, Saqib Khan and Bevon Jacobs, while Islamabad United included Samin Gul and Dipendra Singh Airee at the base price. Hyderabad Kingsmen secured the highest number of minimum-priced players, signing Saad Ali, Mohammad Tayyab Arif, Rizwan Mahmood, Asif Mahmood, Hanain Shah, Sharjeel Khan and Hammad Azam. Rawalpindi also added Shahzaib Khan, Fawad Ali, Dain Forrester and Mohammad Aamir Khan for Rs6 million each. Overall, Hyderabad Kingsmen topped the list with seven players bought at the base price while Islamabad United and Karachi Kings had the fewest minimum-price signings, with two players each.
