ISLAMABAD – Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz met with Balochistan CM Sarfraz Bugti and pledged unwavering support for the province during a critical security crisis. The visit comes in aftermath of the January 31 attacks that brought parts of Balochistan to a standstill for several days. Security forces responded with “Operation Radd-ul-Fitna-1,” reportedly killing 216 terrorists. Addressing CM Bugti, Maryam Nawaz said, “As CM of Punjab, as a Pakistani, and as your sister, all the services and resources of Punjab are at your disposal—whether for countering Khawarij or handling administrative challenges.” She added, “Whatever support you need, I am just a call away,” highlighting her personal commitment to the province. کوئٹہ، 10 فروری وزیر اعلیٰ پنجاب مریم نواز شریف کی چیف منسٹر سیکرٹریٹ کوئٹہ آمد وزیر اعلیٰ بلوچستان میر سرفراز بگٹی صوبائی کابینہ اور اراکین اسمبلی کی جانب سے پرتپاک استقبال وزیر اعلیٰ پنجاب مریم نواز شریف کی بلوچستان کابینہ اور اتحادی جماعتوں کے اراکین سے ملاقات مریم نواز... pic.twitter.com/A4d5bfCz6s — Chief Minister's Office Balochistan (@CMOBalochistan) February 10, 2026 Notably, this marked Maryam’s first visit to another province since assuming office in February 2024. She expressed satisfaction that Quetta was her first destination, acknowledging Balochistan’s unique challenges with TTP-linked violence. Praising Bugti’s courage, she said, “A lot of firmness is required to govern under such conditions, and you are demonstrating it brilliantly.” Maryam also visited the Frontier Corps (FC) headquarters, where she described the dedication of security personnel as “promising and encouraging,” and prayed for the swift eradication of terrorism, hoping that “Balochistan becomes a cradle of peace, safety, and happiness.” During her visit, she held meetings with CM Bugti, Balochistan Governor Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail, provincial cabinet members, and allied party leaders, and attended an event at the FC headquarters. In a major boost to provincial security, Punjab announced Rs10 billion in aid for Balochistan’s forces. CM Bugti welcomed the gesture, calling it “a great justice to Balochistan” and praising Maryam’s visit as “very respectful,” especially during a period of heightened security threats. He emphasized that the provincial government and opposition remain united in serving the welfare of the people. CM Maryam visits Quetta to meet martyrs’ families, victims of terror attacks
