LAHORE – Punjab government announced major relief for youth with Parwaaz Card. Over next three years, 45,000 youth will get the chance to work abroad, get skills training, job offers, and interest-free loans ranging from Rs150,000 to 1 million. Maryam Nawaz-led government unveiled “Parwaaz Card” initiative, aiming to send 45,000 young Pakistanis abroad for work over the next 3 years. Planning and Development Board approved Rs6.9 billion for scheme’s first three years, signaling one of the largest youth empowerment drives in the province’s history. According to officials, the program will prepare the workforce in critical sectors such as health, construction, and IT, with 8,000 participants in the first year, 15,000 in the second, and 22,000 in the third benefiting from this unprecedented opportunity. The ambitious plan includes skill development, pre-departure training, and skill verification, along with coverage of essential biometric, medical, protective, and airfare expenses. Under the scheme, every participant will receive an interest-free loan ranging from Rs150,000 to 1,000,000, repayable over 15 months after 3-month grace period. Monthly installments will range from Rs12,000 to 80,000, with a 20% cash withdrawal facility from the loan amount for immediate needs. Eligibility requires confirmed job offer letter and residency in Punjab, ensuring that the benefits reach deserving candidates. The initiative will generate up to $200 million annually in remittances, giving a significant boost to the national economy.
