Intermittent light to moderate rain is expected in the upper parts of Pakistan on Monday evening and night, as well as on Tuesday and Wednesday. In plain areas, the trend of rising temperatures will continue due to dry weather in the coming days. Forecast: According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), no significant rainfall is expected in the plain areas of the country, and a gradual rise in daytime temperatures is expected across the country up to next week. Daytime temperatures are expected to remain 06°C to 08°C above normal in the plains of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, Punjab and northern parts of Balochistan. In southern Balochistan and Sindh, daytime temperatures are also likely to remain 05°C to 07°C above normal. Nighttime temperatures are also expected to increase during the period. Partly cloudy and at times cloudy weather conditions with light to moderate rain are expected in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kurum, Khyber, Mohmand, Kohistan, Buner, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Malakand, and in Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir from 09th to 11th March with occasional breaks. Rain is also expected in Islamabad, Pothohar region, Murree, Galiyat and surroundings on 10th & 11th March. Impacts: Prolonged dry weather will cause severe stress on water resources and seasonal crops, particularly the wheat crop in rain-fed areas. The increasing temperature trend may enhance evaporation rates and water demand during the period. Ensure timely irrigation where available and make judicious use of water. Farmers are advised to manage their crops according to the prevailing weather conditions. Less rain, higher temperatures likely in Pakistan during March 2026
