ISLAMABAD – President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated Pakistanis on the beginning of Ramadan 2026, stressing peace, piety, and collective welfare. President Zardari, in his heartfelt message, prayed to Allah SWAT to grant all Pakistanis the wisdom and ability to understand and embody the true spirit of this holy month. May Allah bless Pakistan with peace, stability, and progress, and accept the nation’s prayers, worship, and righteous deeds, he said. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also extended warm felicitations to Muslims across Pakistan and around the world, describing Ramadan as a blessed and spiritually uplifting month, a divine opportunity to renew devotion, piety, and spiritual purity. Highlighting the deeper significance of Ramadan, the premier stressed that holy month encourages moral improvement, empathy, social responsibility, and respect for the rights of others. He noted that fasting is not merely a religious obligation but a practical training in patience, discipline, and responsibility, while also nurturing collective goodwill, especially towards the underprivileged. In a bold move to support vulnerable communities, the government launched Ramadan Package, designed to provide financial assistance to deserving individuals through digital wallets, ensuring that every household can partake in the blessings of Sehri and Iftar with dignity. “We pray to Allah Almighty to help us follow the teachings of the Holy Quran, the exemplary conduct of the Prophet (PBUH), and the true practical essence of this sacred month,” Shehbaz Sharif said. He further added that the nation prays for acceptance of individual and collective worship, and for Pakistan to become a beacon of peace, stability, progress, and prosperity.
