ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif rolled out Rs38 billion Ramazan Relief Package 2026, promising financial support to a staggering 12.1 million households across Pakistan. Under programme, each family will receive Rs13,000 through digital wallets during holy month of Ramadan. Addressing the launch ceremony, PM Shehbaz Sharif acknowledged the immense challenges in rolling out the initiative, including banks’ cooperation, limited digital infrastructure, and hurdles posed by the State Bank of Pakistan. “This year, Rs38 billion has been allocated for this historic effort,” he said, adding that the funds will reach deserving households not only in all four provinces but also in Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir via digital wallets and bank accounts. The federal government raised stipend allocation to Rs10 billion, underscoring scale of this relief effort. Describing it as largest federal initiative during Ramadan in both scope and complexity, PM Shehbaz Sharif vowed to personally monitor the distribution of funds to ensure transparency and efficiency. He also extended his gratitude to international partners for their support, stating that their contributions will play a pivotal role in achieving this historic milestone during the holy month.
