ISLAMABAD – The management of Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) has released an update on the health of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, who was taken to the medical facility last week after he complained of reduced vision. PIMS Executive Director Professor Rana Imran Sikander said all necessary medical tests have been conducted for the PTI leader. Professor Sikander stated that Imran Khan had complained of reduced vision in his right eye, which led to a thorough examination by a team of medical experts. Following the evaluation, the PTI leader was informed in detail about the condition and potential treatment options. The hospital administration clarified that Imran Khan was transferred to PIMS on the night between Saturday and Sunday for treatment. A senior medical team conducted a detailed examination and took all necessary medical actions. Afterward, he was transferred back to jail, as per the advice of eye specialists at PIMS. Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar had also confirmed that Imran Khan was in good health and had fully recovered. Before the official update, senior PTI leader and lawyer Dr. Babar Awan had stated that Khan had been hospitalized not for a minor issue but due to a more serious health concern. Meanwhile, Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sohail Afridi, expressed concern, stating that while the information about Khan’s transfer from Adiala Jail to PIMS had reached the public, his family had not been informed. Afridi also raised concerns about the lack of a retina specialist at PIMS, which could complicate matters for Imran Khan’s eye treatment.
