LAHORE – Amid the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) attempts to persuade Pakistan to reconsider its stance on not playing a T20 World Cup match against India, unverified reports suggest that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has outlined several conditions during discussions with the ICC to revisit its decision. A day earlier, ICC Deputy Chairman Imran Khwaja and Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Aminul Islam held a meeting with PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium. During the discussion, Naqvi informed the ICC deputy chief that the decision of boycotting India-match was taken by the government, and as such, the PCB could not do anything except to follow the directions. Rumoured Conditions Unverified information, circulating on social media, indicated that PCB is reportedly demanding apology from India over Asia Cup episode. In another reported condition , PCB is seeking the hosting rights for the upcoming World Cup, with a major condition being that India must participate in the tournament in Pakistan. Another condition reportedly being discussed is that India must engage in a bilateral series with Pakistan following the World Cup. The final demand reportedly revolves around the distribution of World Cup revenue. Currently, 80% of the earnings from the World Cup go to India, but Pakistan is seeking a revision of this distribution. The PCB has not shared any official statement in this regard.
