Russia strikes Ukraine with missiles, drones, hits civilians and infrastructure

KYIV – Russia carried out a massive missile and drone attack on Ukraine, targeting energy facilities, railways, and residential areas, causing casualties and significant damage, the international media reported, citing the local officials on Monday. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that approximately 50 missiles and 300 drones were launched in a single night. While the energy sector was the primary target, several residential buildings were also affected. In Kyiv and surrounding areas, one person was killed and multiple civilians, including children, sustained injuries. The attacks come just days ahead of the fourth anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, escalating tensions in the region.
