School, colleges to remain closed on March 11

KARACHI – The Sindh government has announced that all public and private schools and colleges will remain closed on March 11 to mark Youm-e-Ali, commemorating the martyrdom of Hazrat Ali (RA) on the 21st of Ramadan. The provincial government has issued a notification follows the recommendations of the Sindh sub-committee of the steering committee on education. Youm-e-Ali is observed annually with religious gatherings and processions held nationwide to honour the life and sacrifice of Hazrat Ali (RA). On Friday, the federal education department has announced spring holidays for schools and in Islamabad from March 24 to March 27, 2026. Schools and colleges are scheduled to reopen on March 30. The spring break has been combined with the Eid holidays, which are expected to be observed from March 20 to March 23, allowing students an extended period of time off. Authorities have confirmed that all educational activities will resume as usual on March 30, following the conclusion of the combined holiday period.
