LAHORE – The Shab-e-Baraat is observed on 15th night of the Islamic month of Shaban every year with full religious passion, zeal and enthusiasm across the country. Special Quranic sittings, seminars and Mahafils are arranged at mosques and other places to highlight the importance of this night. The Shaban month commenced on January 21, 2026 in Pakistan after the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee announced the decision about the moon sighting. Shab-e-Barat 2026 Date Shab-e-Barat, the night of forgiveness and prayers, will be observed on February 3, 2026 (Thursday) across Pakistan. Shab-e-Barat Holiday Update Last year, the Sindh government declared a holiday for schools and educational institutions on the occasion of Shab-e-Barat 2025. However, this year, the provincial government has yet to announce whether a holiday will be observed. Should a decision be made, an official notification will be issued by the Sindh government. Shab-e-Barat falls on the night between the 14th and 15th of Sha’ban, a significant event in Islamic tradition marked by devotion and prayer. This night holds great significance for Muslims, as it is believed that Allah makes crucial decisions about people’s destiny, including their sustenance, lifespan, and fate.
