Sindh cabinet reconstitutes Workers Welfare Board for  labour welfare schemes

KARACHI – The Sindh Cabinet has approved the reconstitution of the governing body of the Sindh Workers Welfare Board, reactivating it to implement and monitor welfare schemes for registered laborers across the province. The officials informed the cabinet that the previous term of the board had expired on August 22, 2025. Under the new structure, the board will be chaired by the Minister for Labour and Human Resources and will include secretaries of the Labour and Finance departments, as well as representatives from the Sindh Revenue Board. The cabinet also approved four employer representatives and nominated four labor representatives to ensure workers’ interests are protected. A spokesperson for the Chief Minister Sindh said the board has been constituted in accordance with the Sindh Workers Welfare Fund Act 2014. The board will supervise welfare projects and ensure the effective utilization of the Workers Welfare Fund.
