Sindh Governor writes letter to CJ to establish judicial commission on Gul Plaza inferno

KARACHI: Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori has written a letter to the Chief Justice (CJ) of the Sindh High Court (SHC), requesting a judicial inquiry into the Gul Plaza inferno, ARY News reported. The Governor recommended that the Chief Justice establish a judicial commission to investigate the catastrophic fire. Expressing deep concern over the loss of precious lives in the horrific incident, Governor Tessori urged the CJ to probe the root causes, potential negligence, and any legal violations that contributed to the blaze. In his letter, the Governor emphasized that a judicial inquiry is essential to determine those responsible. He proposed that the commission be established under the direct supervision of the Sindh High Court. “After such a horrific inferno, the dispensation of justice and the restoration of public trust are paramount,” the Governor stated. He added that a comprehensive probe is necessary to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
