SKANS Schools’ sports gala held to promote healthy habits among students

Children learn life lessons from competition, success, failure and team work in daylong Tiny Tigers Fiesta SKANS Schools’ Westridge Early Years Education (EYE) Campus on Thursday organized a fun-filled, thrilling Inter-School Futsal Competition ‘Tiny Tigers Fiesta’ for the students of the Early Yeas Schools including Nursery and Kindergarten levels. SKANS Westridge Junior Branch campus where the competitions were held was filled with excitement, colour and enthusiasm as young learners participated in a well-organized sporting event designed especially for their age group. A large number of students of all the SKANS branches had arrived with their physical trainers and the teaching faculty. A total nine teams from different schools were invited to take part in the competition. Each team consisted of nine students who actively participated and displayed remarkable energy, confidence, and coordination throughout the matches. The competition provided children with a valuable opportunity to interact with peers from other schools while enjoying a healthy and friendly sporting environment. In the final match, SKANS Golra Campus emerged as the winning team and its captain Affan Aslam carried the trophy while SKANS Westridge EYE Campus secured the runners-up position, Zakriya, captain of the runner-up team was also praised for leading his team to the finals. Principal of the SKANS Westridge EYE Campus, Ms. Hooria Niazi, Vice Principal of the SKANS Westridge Junior Branch, Ms Namra Gul Malik, Curriculum Lead & Trainer of the EYE, Ms Maham Pasha, parents and teachers were also there to cheer up students and encourage them to give their best in sports The main objective of conducting the Inter-School Futsal Competition in Early Years education was to promote physical development through active play. The event supported the development of gross motor skills such as running, kicking, balance, and coordination. In addition, it aimed to build confidence, teamwork, and communication skills among young learners. By introducing healthy competition at an early age, the event helped children learn important values such as cooperation, respect, patience, and fair play. It also supported emotional development by teaching children how to manage excitement, handle winning and losing positively.
