ISLAMABAD – Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has announced scheduled load management during Ramadan amid growing concerns over a nationwide gas shortage due to ongoing Middle East tensions. The company stated that gas will be supplied at normal pressure only during Sehar and Iftar hours, while pressure will be reduced during other times of the day. New Gas Schedule for Sehri, Iftari According to the schedule, gas will be available from 2:30 am to 5:00 am for Sehar and from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm for Iftar. Although the federal government had previously announced continuous gas supply throughout Ramadan, disruptions in LNG imports and declining domestic gas reserves have forced SNGPL to implement scheduled supply. This move raises concerns about potential interruptions in the commercial and industrial sectors, which may affect business activities. The company urged consumers to use gas during designated hours to help mitigate the impact of the shortage. SNGPL Jurisdiction SNGPL has a defined operational jurisdiction covering North Central Pakistan, serving over 7.5 million consumers in the following regions: Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJ&K) and Islamabad Capital Territory.
