A solo show titled ‘Zikr’ was inaugurated on Tuesday at the Satrang Gallery, Serena Hotel featuring the works of Qasim Bugti, a Nastaliq calligrapher. Ambassador of Autria, Mr Wolfgang Oliver Kutschera accompanied by CEO Serena Hotel, Aziz A Boolani and Director of the gallery, Asma Rashid Khan cut the ribbon to formally open the exhibition which he called very “fulfilling and impactful.” As the holy month of Ramadan is approaching this is an appropriate step taken by the gallery and its management, the ambassador remarked. As Qasim’s work is inspired by the poetry of Prof MirzaGhulamRasoolAzhar who was deeply inclined towards Sufism and Tasawwuf, I can trace a sense of spirituality which is very appropriate in this time of Ramadan, said the ambassador. This beautiful collection of artworks by MrBugti reflects Pakistan’s rich art and culture and events like these not only showcase remarkable creativity but also dialogue, understanding and appreciation across the communities, he noted. Aziz A Boolani in his brief speech highly appreciated QasimBugti’s inspiring work and reiterated Serena Hotel’s resolve to keep showing Pakistan’s soft image. The art gallery, he said, was also doing a great work for last many years projecting the creative, artistic and cultural diversity of Pakistan.
