The Educators, Al-Ameen Academy among 56 sealed in Lahore

The Educators and Al-Ameen Academy were among 56 illegal commercial buildings sealed in different areas of Lahore yesterday. Besides these, the sealed premises also included United International College, Muhammadan International High School, Shanzay Salon, pharmacy, estate offices, grocery stores, food outlets, offices and other businesses. During operations against illegal commercial buildings and nonpayment of commercialisation fees, the Lahore Development Authority’s Town Planning Wing sealed 20 buildings in Gulberg and New Garden Town, three in Shadman and Shah Jamal, and 33 in Allama Iqbal Town and Subzazar Housing Scheme. LDA Chief Town Planner I, Assad-uz-Zaman, supervised these operations conducted by the enforcement and security teams, with the assistance of the Police. According to LDA officials, several notices were served on the owners of these buildings before the operations were carried out. LDA Director General Tahir Farooq has directed the continuation of indiscriminate operations against land grabbers, encroachments, illegal commercial use and nonpayment of commercialisation fees in Lahore’s housing schemes and LDA-controlled areas.
