The Spirit School, Fine Pizza among 89 sealed in Punjab capital

The Spirit School and Fine Pizza were among 89 illegal commercial buildings sealed in different areas of the Punjab capital yesterday. Besides these, the sealed premises also included Al Tarab Sweets, Ruqayya Clinic, Care Plus Pharmacy, grocery stores, food points, offices and other businesses. During operations against illegal commercial buildings and nonpayment of commercialisation fees, the Lahore Development Authority’s Town Planning Wing sealed 19 buildings in Gulberg and Model Town, 20 on Canal Bank Road, 25 in Guldasht Town, 15 in Nespak Society, and 10 in Azam Garden. LDA Chief Town Planner I, Assad-uz-Zaman, and Chief Town Planner II, Azhar Ali, supervised these operations carried out by the enforcement and security teams with the assistance of the Police. According to LDA officials, several notices were served on the owners of these buildings before the operations were carried out. LDA Director General Tahir Farooq has directed the continuation of indiscriminate operations against illegal commercial use and nonpayment of commercialisation fees in Lahore’s housing schemes and LDA-controlled areas.
