Three-year-old child dies after falling into open manhole inside Kasur wedding hall

KASUR – Following the tragic incident of Bhatti gate in Lahore, a similar incident took place in Kasur area of Mustafaabad, where a three-year-old child lost his life after falling into an open manhole inside a private marriage hall. The rescue officials confirmed that the child’s body was later recovered from the sewer. Following the report of the incident, Deputy Commissioner Kasur Muhammad Asif Raza and DPO Kasur Muhammad Issa Khan rushed to the scene to assess the situation. Police said that, on the directive of the DPO, a case has been registered under Section 322 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) against those responsible for negligence. According to the victim’s father, the deceased child, Ali Mehram, was celebrating his birthday on the same day, plunging the area into deep mourning. DPO Kasur Muhammad Issa Khan assured that those found responsible for the incident would be arrested at the earliest and brought to justice in accordance with the law. Just a day earlier, a similar incident was reported in the Manawan area of Lahore, where a child fell into an open manhole near the BMC Stop. The moment was captured on CCTV footage, which later surfaced on social media, showing the child slipping into the manhole and causing panic among residents. The local citizens acted swiftly and managed to rescue the child. The footage shows passersby rushing to the scene and pulling the child out of the manhole. A few days ago, a woman and her daughter lost their lives after falling into a manhole near Bhati Gate in Lahore. Following that incident, CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif ordered an inquiry and directed authorities to take preventive measures to avoid such tragedies in the future.
