WASHINGTON/ISLAMABAD – US Donald Trump made a statement regarding Pakistan’s military response to Afghan Taliban aggression in the region. POTUS indicated that he would consider involvement if requested, saying his strong diplomatic ties with Pakistan and praising its leadership and military establishment. He stressed that Islamabad has been performing “terrifically well,” reinforcing his respect for the nation’s governance and strategic role in regional stability. According to statements from information minister Attaullah Tarar, the strikes focused on military and terrorist bases rather than civilian zones such as Kabul’s Green Zone. He asserted that Afghan militant positions were “completely destroyed” and described the situation as an ongoing security operation aimed at neutralizing threats against Pakistan. Tarar further claimed that Afghan forces had attempted skirmishes and firing across borders in regions including Khyber and Chitral but lacked the capability for conventional warfare. He also noted a shift in tone from the Afghan side, suggesting potential diplomatic implications following the military action. A spokesperson for Pakistan’s foreign media provided staggering figures, alleging that the operation resulted in the deaths of 297 Afghan Taliban fighters and injuries to over 450 others. Reports claim that 89 militant posts were obliterated, 18 captured, and 135 tanks and armored vehicles destroyed. Additionally, aerial operations reportedly targeted 29 locations across Afghanistan, underscoring the scale and intensity of the conflict.
