UBL, TCS, Baby Hub among 50 buildings sealed in Lahore

The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) continued operations against illegal commercial buildings and nonpayment of commercialisation fees in Lahore’s various housing schemes and LDA-controlled areas. Yesterday, LDA’s Town Planning Wing sealed 50 illegal commercial buildings and the premises that defaulted on the commercialisation fees. Out of these, 21 were sealed in Gulberg and Model Town Extension, 20 on Canal Bank Road, and nine in Mustafa Town. The sealed premises include United Bank Limited, TCS outlet, Salt & Spicy, Baby Hub, Bahria Dastarkhwan, Pharma One, HA Mega Mart, AR Islamic School System, grocery stores, food points, offices, and other businesses. LDA Chief Town Planner I, Assad-uz-Zaman, supervised these operations carried out by the enforcement and security teams with the assistance of the Police. According to LDA officials, several notices were served on the owners of these buildings before the operations were carried out. LDA Director General Tahir Farooq has directed the continuation of indiscriminate operations against violations of building and parking bylaws, land grabbers, encroachments, illegal commercial use and nonpayment of commercialisation fees in Lahore’s housing schemes and LDA-controlled areas.
