UNFPA chief Dr Luay Shabaneh engages KITAAS community

ISLAMABAD – Khaldunia Institute of Technology and Applied Sciences (KITAAS) was honored to host Dr. Luay Shabaneh, UNFPA Country Representative, Islamabad, at its City Campus on 28 January. Dr Shabaneh was accompanied by his dedicated team. He was warmly received by Prof. Dr Mohammad Nizamuddin, Chairperson of the Nizam Foundation, along with his team. Prof. Dr Mohammad Nizamuddin presented a comprehensive overview of the Foundation and outlined its key academic initiatives, including the ongoing KITAAS project, the forthcoming degree-awarding institution, KITAAS University, and the proposed Center of Excellence in Population, Education, and Development Studies (CoEPEDS) at KITAAS. Following the briefing, Dr Shabaneh conducted a detailed tour of the KITAAS laboratories and subsequently engaged with faculty members and administrative staff, during which he delivered a brief address. He later interacted with students, fostering meaningful dialogue on population dynamics and development challenges in Pakistan. In his address, Dr Shabaneh offered valuable perspectives on social responsibility, sustainable development, and the pivotal role of youth in shaping a resilient and equitable future. His remarks were highly appreciated and stimulated critical reflection among students on both national and global issues. Dr Shabaneh also commended Prof. Dr Mohammad Nizamuddin for his sustained commitment to advancing education and for his clear vision and mission in promoting academic excellence. Dr. Luay Shabaneh’s visit marked a significant milestone for KITAAS, underscoring the institution’s commitment to scholarly engagement, knowledge dissemination, and collaboration with national and international organizations.
