LAHORE – The ongoing conflict in the Middle East continues to severely impact air travel from Pakistan, with flights to the region facing widespread cancellations and delays. The airline sources said that 97 flights scheduled to operate today from Pakistan to Middle Eastern destinations have been canceled while only 58 flights are expected to depart. The airlines and passengers are urged to check flight schedules and remain updated on changes. The current situation highlights the widespread disruptions caused by geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, which continue to affect trade, travel and connectivity for Pakistan and the region at large. From Karachi, 25 flights bound for Doha, Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, and Bahrain were canceled, while 13 flights are likely to operate. Lahore witnessed the cancellation of 22 flights to Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Doha, and Sharjah, with seven flights expected to take off. Similarly, Islamabad experienced 26 canceled flights to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha, and Sharjah, while 16 flights remain operational. In Peshawar, 10 flights to Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Ras Al Khaimah were canceled, with six flights still expected to operate. Sialkot saw five flights to Doha, Dubai, and Sharjah canceled, while four flights remained operational. Multan reported six cancellations to Sharjah, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Dammam, and Faisalabad saw three flights to Dubai and Sharjah canceled, with four flights proceeding as scheduled. The authorities report that over the past eight days, a total of 1,300 flights from Pakistan to Middle Eastern destinations have been canceled, reflecting the growing impact of the ongoing conflict on regional aviation. In the past week alone, a staggering 27,600 flights in the broader Middle East have been affected by cancellations and operational disruptions. Meanwhile, Doha Airport has announced a partial resumption of flight operations starting today, following a one-week suspension due to the conflict.
