Wheat price fixed at Rs3,500 as Punjab takes lead with policy 2026

LAHORE – Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced wheat procurement price for year 2026 in order to provide maximum benefit to farmers. In a post shared on X platform, the chief minister said Punjab has become the first province to formulate a public-private partnership police for the procurement. Under the policy, three million metric tons of wheat will be purchased from local farmers at Rs 3,500 per maund in 2026. Wheat Crop Season In Pakistan, wheat is grown during the Rabi (winter) season, with planting generally happening between mid-October and December, and the harvest occurring from mid-March to May.
