Workshop on ‘Pathology of Companion Animals’ concludes

Three-day international workshop on ‘Pathology of Companion Animals’ concluded at the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) on Wednesday. UVAS Vice-Chancellor Dr Muhammad Younus presided over the concluding ceremony and distributed certificates among participants and shields among resource persons of the workshop. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Younus appreciated the UVAS team for organising a successful international workshop on an informative topic and also advised the participants to perform their field-related responsibilities with full dedication. He said that due to the quality of education and research, UVAS achieved a prominent position in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings. He said that currently more than 10,000 students are studying in various degree programs at the university. The VC further said that a vaccine is being developed at UVAS Ravi Campus Pattoki to prevent foot-and-mouth disease. He urged the workshop participants to spread the knowledge which they learned from this workshop with other professionals so that veterinary education in the country is promoted and the economy is strengthened. Earlier, Dr Yasin Tipu thanked the sponsors for financial assistance and praised participants who came from different parts of the world to make this workshop successful, while Dr Ishtiaq Ahmad spoke about the various aspects, participant strength, GHPN activities and aims and objectives of the workshop. This intensive workshop was designed to strengthen diagnostic skills through interactive learning, real clinical case discussions and practical exposure to cytology, histopathology, necropsy techniques and disease correlation in companion animals.
