World’s Most Powerful Passports Revealed: Where does Pakistan stand?

KARACHI – The global passport ranking for February 2026 has been released, and once again, an Asian country claimed top spot as holder of world’s most powerful passport. Meanwhile, Pakistan’s passport has improved its ranking, attracting international attention. According to latest ranking, Singapore holds world’s most powerful passport, granting its citizens visa-free access to 192 countries. In second place are Japan and South Korea, whose citizens can travel visa-free to 187 countries. In third place are Sweden and United Arab Emirates, offering visa-free entry to 186 countries. Notably, this is the first time the UAE passport has reached third place, highlighting its rising global prominence. Fourth place, with visa-free access to 185 countries, includes Denmark, Luxembourg, Spain, Austria, Belgium, Ireland, Italy, France, Germany, Norway, Finland, Netherlands, and Switzerland. Fifth place goes to Portugal, Greece, and Malta, whose passports allow visa-free travel to 184 countries. Pakistan’s Passport Sees Improvement Pakistani passport improved by one rank to 97th position, with citizens enjoying visa-free access to 32 countries. Following Pakistan are Yemen (98th), Iraq (99th), Syria (100th), and Afghanistan (101st). Above Pakistan are Somalia (96th), Nepal (95th), North Korea (94th), Bangladesh (93rd), and Eritrea (92nd), while some countries, including Palestine and Sri Lanka share the 91st position. Other key countries in the region include India at 80th, China at 59th, and Iran at 92nd position. This ranking not only reflects global travel privileges but also indicates economic and diplomatic influence. For Pakistani citizens, the climb is a positive sign, while countries in Asia and Europe continue to enjoy unparalleled travel freedom with their passports.
